UNC Health Care
The UNC Health Care System is a not-for-profit integrated health care system, owned by the State of North Carolina and based in Chapel Hill. It exists to further the teaching mission of the University of North Carolina and to provide state-of-the-art patient care. A distinguishing characteristic of UNC Health Care is its association with the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine, a nationally eminent research institution.

Duke University Hospital
With especially strong scores in 10 specialties, Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC, was named once again to the Best Hospitals Honor Roll. Duke University Medical Center is ranked nationally in 15 adult and 10 pediatric specialties. This hospital is a 798-bed general medical and surgical facility with 38,489 annual admissions, according to the latest data.

RDU International Airport
In February 2000, RDU was ranked as the nation’s second fastest growing major airport in the United States, by Airports Council International, based on 1999 statistics. Passenger growth hit 24% over the previous year, putting RDU second only to Washington Dulles International.

Research Triangle Park is home to more than 170 global companies, including IBM, GSK, Syngenta, RTI International, Credit Suisse, and Cisco, that foster a culture of scientific advancement and competitive excellence. RTP is located between three major universities: Duke University in Durham, North Carolina State University in Raleigh, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
