Community Testimonials
"
We were looking for an area that was convenient to lots of cultural opportunities. An area that was close to a major airport which had a climate that was much less harsh than the Northeast. Specifically, we wanted to live on a golf course in a neighborhood with families close by. The schools had to be good and everyday shopping needs convenient.
Now that we're here, it is a quick neighborhood with a fabulous view. There are lots of families nearby and school is a 7-minute drive. We love the "challenging" course and the social opportunities the Club and pool provide.

-Amy & Bob Wann and family | "We were looking for a place to relocate at an age where we could actually integrate into a new community, a university community, a mild, 4-season climate, great health care, a golf community and a great airport with direct flights to many locations. We enjoy our home and its design, comfort & amenities, the many opportunities for activities and relationships, our good neighbors and the mountain views."
-Lowell & Ruth Hoffman | "Stone Brook in Governors Club was a great choice for our family and we look forward to raising our children here. Our neighbors were very welcoming and we are very happy we chose Stone Brook as our home. The mountainous terrain, ponds, views, pool, tennis and park are all enjoyed regularly. We also enjoy the convenience of Jordan Lake, Lowe's Foods, the local restaurants and shopping. Stone Brook truly has a resort-like atmosphere and is ideal for a young family."
-Kim & Will Johnson and family | "We were looking for golf, tennis, a gated community, cultural activities nearby, good medical care, reasonable access to the Washington, DC for family and business.
What do we enjoy about living here? THE PEOPLE. We have met many wonderful people and many new friends have evolved. The place is beautiful and the weather great. We live in Governors Square - we like the maintenance package, the similar age group here and the closeness of our neighbors. We also like the tennis, golf and the many social programs available as members of the Club.

-Adrienne & Larry Braverman | "We were looking for safety - we love that they provide a "person" at the gatehouse, beauty - there is not another neighborhood in the Triangle as beautiful as Governors Club!, and value - we feel that we are getting a great value with all that is offered at Governors Club.
We enjoy the beauty & peacefulness and a feeling of home. It is like a breath of fresh air just driving through the community. I feel so far away from the hustle and bustle that is just outside the front gatehouse. The people we have met are very nice and we like the neighborhood feeling.
What do we enjoy being a member of the Club? The Clubhouse! Our family enjoys eating at the Clubhouse. The service and food are always top notch and we are treated so kindly. Our children enjoy eating there too! It is a great family environment and the staff always welcomes us with our children..."
-Julie & Jerry ter Avest and family | | "We were looking for a congenial neighborhood close to cultural events, a college town, good healthcare and easy access to a major airport. We wanted reasonable weather and were drawn by the big trees and four seasons. Although we were looking to retire, we wanted neighbors of all ages and we liked the closeness to Research Triangle Park in case we should choose to go back to work.
Living here, the number one thing we enjoy is the people - from everywhere. The Governors Club setting on Edwards Mountain is so beautiful with the rolling hills, lovely forest and stately homes. There are lots of things going on in the neighborhood and close by. We have the best of big city and small town combined.
As far as our Club membership - John works out in the gym and I go to water aerobics at the pool. I've also been taking tennis lessons and loving it. We enjoy socializing with our friends at Club events. I have been known to call some ladies and have them come out to enjoy each other by having drinks on the patio at the Club or just a spur of the moment idea that brings out 30 people. Always fun!"
