Brightleaf Development Company
Brightleaf Development Co. LLC is a Construction Management firm -- small by design. We can take pride in the workmanship and care in all of the details, only by accepting a few projects each year.
· We believe in approaching each custom home project by first building a good team. No home is ever satisfactorily completed without the cooperation of many different groups of people: Architects and Designers -Suppliers – Trades Peoples - and of course our Clients. These varied groups are only successful in the areas of quality and cost control when there is careful planning, scheduling and communication.
Perfecting the art of coordination
1. We have established a strong working relationship with Architects and Designers. We believe that we can contribute our field experience, knowledge of structural building methods and specialty materials at the beginning of the project along with the Architect and Designer. Ideas can be debated freely. Cost savings may occur because the Builder is able to bid out various sections of the project while there is still time for changes in the overall design. And the whole project is generally completed much sooner due to the time saved by multi-tasking. For more details please see the “Negotiated Contract” section of our website.
2. Brightleaf has developed a client workbook with a section devoted to the sometimes difficult task of choosing the design selections for your home. We have tried to streamline the process with timelines, information and hints regarding your choices. We have developed a form for your Designer or the material Supplier to complete so that your choices are clear to all involved thus preventing mistakes in orders or misunderstandings in finishes. This workbook also contains a list of suggested Suppliers with addresses, directions and phone numbers. We are happy to set up appointments for our out-of-town clients for an efficient use of your visiting time. Please ask to see a sample workbook when we meet.
3. It has been our experience that by creating long-term relationships with Suppliers and Trades People, they are more likely to “go the extra mile” for our clients and also prove to be more reliable. We look for competent and qualified people in each field. Our Craftspeople are accountable to the highest standards. We find that providing them with clean and organized work environments, accurate scheduling, timely payments and on site support from a Brightleaf Supervisor, they become loyal members of our team.
4. Communication is a key to our Client relationship; ensuring that the Homeowners wishes are carefully followed and assuring quality control. We schedule weekly on site meetings. Our Partners or Supervisors are on the job site daily and available to talk for your convenience if necessary. For our out-of –town clients we e-mail frequently (including job meeting summaries), use telephone conferences for more extensive discussions, schedule and coordinate meetings during construction visits and send progress photos over the internet on a regular basis.
Experience and Success are Immeasurable Qualities in Home Building.
We have been building homes for over 25 years and Brightleaf Development has won the following Governors Club awards:
· Customer Satisfaction
· Construction Site Management
· Team Project Award (two years in a row)
· Outstanding Building Quality
We also are Habitat for Humanity volunteers.

BRW, Inc. BRW, Inc. has been in business in Chapel Hill since 1974. They take great pride in their attention to detail both in construction quality and in cost management. Unlike most building companies, BRW has full time carpenters and staff on each home. Hired and trained by BRW, these carpenters pursue perfection of fit, not profit. Also, an in-house wood working shop enables skilled BRW artisans to produce one-of-a kind mantels, moldings and trims for clients. The company builds approximately 3-4 houses each year, taking the time necessary to produce exceptional results that satisfy their clients.
Runyon Woods is President of the company, with Margaret Will functioning as Business Manager. Together they have implemented a unique system of billing that allows precise estimation of costs to the client form the beginning to the end of the building process, and this system allows BRW to conform to the original estimate within an average of 2%. All bills are presented openly; it is always possible for BRW clients to see exactly how their money is spent.
BRW, Inc. is a company dedicated to providing the highest quality workmanship in a way that creates straightforward relationships with their customers; this unique philosophy has helped them become one of the most successful companies in the Triangle.

Pomarico Construction Corporation Quality has always been an essential element in Pomarico’s building philosophy. “Building homes is a communication process,” says Bill, and it should be an open one between the owner and the builder. Everyone comes into the process with some thoughts and ideas of what they are looking for. My job is to help organize those thoughts and turn them into a home. Bill Pomarico has been building for over 30 years, and has learned that if the client and building company have a close, open relationship, the building process is simpler and the clients are always happy with the results of the builder’s hard work.
